Several years ago I attended a raucous concert, where my front and center seat provided ample view of the proceedings in the mosh pit a few feet away.
|
It seemed nearly every kid wore a t-shirt featuring either a rock band's tour or the famous visage of Che, taken by the great Cuban photographer Korda.
|
What I took from this was that both serve as shorthand communication of basic youthful ideals: hope, community, rebellion, defiance and idealism.
|
Thus was born my idea for "The Che World Reunion Tour," an ongoing series of depictions of Che as a wandering folk-rock troubadour. We'll see how it goes....
