After she finishes the day's chores, I imagine, Guadalupe finally gets a little time to herself..
|
Clad in her comfy sneakers, she sits on the edge of her metal spring bed and embroiders.
|
Of course she would have a picture of her Son near her bed, so I gave her an offset litho print of a popular devotional image of the Sleeping Child Jesus, one I've seen often in Mexican homes.
|
At the head of her bed hangs a calendar of the sort handed out at the end of the year by Mexican gorcers and shopkeepers; the image (from "Abarrotes Tepeyac" depicts one of the MAyan temples.
